Inhalt: Helicopters are used for offshore operations to support maintenance of windmilling farms, oil and gas rigs and also Emergency Medical Services. To operate helicopters in hostile environments special verification with regard to ditching and survivability on water must be provided to the authorities and the customers and operators. In this frame the aeronautic meets marine engineering. The presentation will give some insight in the helicopter design for overwater operations.
