When submitting your Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis, please observe the following:
Submit an electronic version (via email) to the MSF Student Office and, if requested, two bound copies (no ring binders); please clarify this with your supervisor ift this is needed
The last page must contain the statutory declaration in accordance with the formal requirements (an example can be found under “Wichtige Hinweise ”; the content must match exactly)
Prepare the title page according to the formal requirements (If your supervising chair does not provide a template, you will find an example on the website).
Information on the Procedure for the Study Project (“Studienarbeit”)
1. Registration for the study project is possible at any time. The regular examination semester („Regelprüfungstermin“) is the 3rd Master’s semester.
2. Registration is done via the Application for Admission to the Study Project (download available here) and submitted to the chair.
3. The chair enters the topic, supervisor, and start date on the application form.
4. The chair sends the completed form to the Study Office and Examination Office of the Faculty of Mechanical and Marine Technologies.
5. From the start date, the processing time is 20 weeks. The submission deadline is recorded in the online portal.
6. A one-time extension of up to 4 weeks may be requested by the student. The request must be submitted to the chair (download available here)
7. The chair decides on the extension and reports it to the Examination Office by forwarding the form.
8. Submit one bound copy of the study project to the Study Office and Examination Office. Receipt will be recorded. The work is then forwarded to the chair.
9. The chair reports the grade to the Study Office and Examination Office.
Enrollment in a Master’s Program at the University of Rostock
If you intend to continue with a Master’s program at the MSF after completing your Bachelor’s degree, please re-register for the summer semester 2024 in your Bachelor’s program.
